Deliverying VMware View leveraging Enterprise Flash Drive Technology

As VDI continues to mature and desktop virtualization moves to a more wholistic approach in the form of End User Computing, the economics are becoming better understood. One of the key challenges is around storage and in some ways less often discussed the memory required in the ESX hosts to support multiple VDI instances

The per Virtual Machine cost of providing storage and memory can be enough to stop VDI deployments in their tracks as companies try and evaluate VDI against traditional ROI models

Many of the benefits form VDI come from operational efficiencies that lie outside the traditonal ROI models so a more radical appraoch to assessing the merits of dekstop virtualization may be required before a company can justify the investment

The enclosed White Papers offer a combination of a detailed Solutions Guide document and a more detailed Reference Architecture. The solution detailed documented in the white papers leverages technology from EMC and Cisco to deliverr cost effective VDI solutions and should be read by anyone interested in understanding the economics of deliverying compelling VDI solutions
