Session Title:

Making the Case: Selling Virtualization When ROI isn't Enough

Session Abstract:

Virtualization is in widespread use in non-production environments and increasingly well understood by IT-- IT is ready to push it into production broadly. But is the rest of the organization? The ROI is well understood, but it is not always enough.
This session discusses the organizational factors that promote or hinder rolling virtualization into production: issues of funding, of structure and governance, and of politics and territoriality. This presentation is based on an analysis of Nemertes Research's in-depth discussions of the realities of virtualization deployment with scores of IT executives.
