Session Abstract:

PowerShell is Microsoft's new technology for management and automation. VMware has built an incredibly powerful and easy-to-use toolkit on top of PowerShell that makes provisioning and configuring simple, whether you are dealing with 1 VM or 1000. In this session you'll see numerous examples of how easy it is to use PowerShell to automate VMware Virtual Infrastructure management, and get all the information you need to get started right away.

Speaker 1:

Dmitry Sotnikov is a PowerShell MVP and the man behind PowerGUI and PowerShell AD cmdlets.
In his day job he is in charge of the new product research and development for Quest's Windows Management business unit. His team is actively working with partners and customers to identify the new market opportunities that the company can use to expand its business. It is out of this team that most of Quest's new products and initiatives such as the new SharePoint line of business or the recent PowerShell initiatives emerge.
Dmitry joined Quest as part of the Aelita Software Acquisition and has been now with these companies for more than 9 years holding various managerial positions in technical communications, customer support, and product management. He is the author of multiple whitepapers available from Quest's site, a regular blogger (http://dmitrysotnikov.wordpress.com) and a presenter at various industry events.

Speaker 2:

Carter is a Product Manager for VMware specializing in APIs and SDKs. As a former developer, he knows how frustrating learning a new technology platform can be, so he always stresses simplicity and shallow learning curves.

Speaker 3:

Andrey Anastasov is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware. As tech lead for the VI Toolkit for Windows, he is responsible for the architecture and development of the product.
Andrey's expertise encompasses a wide range of software technology applications, from low-level system software and compilers to enterprise web applications and systems management. His areas of interest include computer graphics, software usability, operating systems design, and psychology.
