An interesting site for comparisons of virtualization/software/hardware products and vendors:

The site also attempts some comparisons for Blades, Disaster Recovery software and Operating Systems.

I can't get to these... itcomparison.com, are they a legitimate site? Seems they have been down for a few days now. I've looked for an alternate URL for them, but can't locate them at google.

One thing to remember is that Hyper-V is still in beta, even though Server 2008 has been released. Many of the drivers that Microsoft is going to incorporate into the final Hyper-V product that allows access to the hardware haven't been written or released yet. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big VMware fan, just saying that performance tests on hyper-V now won't accurately predict the performance of the final released version of Hyper-V.

Hi All,

Vmware ESX uses the Linux kernel to Fork (multple sessions),hence its depends upon the linux thin kernel to

initialize. However Xen 3.1 is developed entirely on the open source and is based on the para-Virtulaization.

Xen is higly suported by HP,IBM, and other big giants. Botton line is, vmware esx depends on linux code.where as

xen is born out of linux coding,hence it should be more efficent than vmware.

Is any one have comaprison with hyervisor by SUN for LDOMs(Logical Domains) ?

VMware ESX kernel is NOT a linux kernel. The VMkernel is designed by VMware specifically to run virtual machines. I am sure like many people, you mistook the service console, which runs RHEL, as the VMkernel !!
