VMWorld 2008 - Food

Anyone that went to VMWorld in Europe, how was the food? Did they serve cold sandwiches like in SF?

Does anyone know if the food in Vegas will be more like LA than SF?

I hope we don't get stuck with sandwiches again.

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food

I hate to tell you this... but... VMworld Europe (Yes, in France no less), served cold sandwiches. It was extremely disappointing to eat the same cold sandwiches every day... IN FRANCE!

I honestly cannot remember what the food was like the last time VMworld was in Las Vegas. But I seem to remember it being better than the food in SF.

Let's hope for some quality tasting food.

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food

I'm hoping for at least a warm breakfast. As much as VMware is charging, you'd think they pony up for some warm meals.

I will give'em props and karma points for teaming up w/ San Fransico and using recyclable / compostable containers, utensils, etc at VMworld 07. Thought that was cool. What's more cool? Warm meals :)

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food
The food at VMworld 2006 was much better than VMworld 2007. I can only hope it is better at VMworld 2008 or at least on par with 2006. Yes, in 2006 there was hot food (warm anyway). I would rather at least have an option of something hot or cold.

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food

The food was really disappointing last year. And also the fact that they brought out coffee and snacks for about 5 minutes in between sessions was awful. There was such a mad rush to the tables that you were very lucky if you got anything.

Please, setup snack tables DURING the sessions so they'll be there when people are coming out of sessions.

I agree the food was horrible and it was hard to get a snack as well. I hope for warm food too! Looking forward to Vegas as well!

The food has gotten progresivly worse as the event has gotten larger.

I was hoping that with the splitting ot vmworld to 2 continents would inprove the

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food

The food in Las Vegas is going to be fabulous! Attendees will have multiple warm breakfast and lunch options daily. Some breakfast meals to look forward to include Eggs Florentine served on an english muffin and a breakfast burrito bar. For lunch there will be box lunches available with a variety of gourmet sandwiches but you may want to skip the box lunch and visit the Far East Buffet or the Mexican Buffet. There will also be Glatt Kosher Lunches and Halal Lunches available.

Sounds most excellent, all of the talk about cold food really had me worried.

That would be a great improvement and it will make the entire VMworld experience more enjoyable...

Wow, that's GREAT information. Thanks for ending the fear of "cold, dry sandwiches" for many of us. This sounds amazing! And I can't wait for the show.

I would prefer a Star Trek Food Replicator -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replicator_(Star_Trek) - any possibilities of making it so ?

Re: VMWorld 2008 - Food
If that's a VI4 feature, I see a lot of adoption of the new platform... VERY QUICKLY! ;)
