IP-based storage options

What IP-based storage/performance deployment options are available for hardware and software iSCSI drivers to deploying ESX Servers? Do any vendors have performance data including comparisons of various numbers of VMs vs. storage protocols?

We are now using NETApp filer as out iSCSI storage for ESX3; running around 30 VMs and still working fine.
