Need help in Desktop virtualization.

I'm working on creating a virtual desktop environment for my IT department where my team members can access their virtual desktops using their fat clients and virtual desktops can remain connected to our some other citrix environment which lies outside my building. what needs to be considered while planning it?

Hi

Could you say how you connect the to the citrix environment at the moment?

What type of connection do you have between the two buildings (i.e leaseline, cable, etc)?

where will the vitual desktop be with the citrix environment are within your building?

Hi..Thanks a ton for your reply on this..

well at the moment we are connecting to Citrix through internet using RSA VPN connectivity but as user are increasing at a very high pace we need to find out some good solution and me and my team found out that VMware can be a good solution for it where we can get connected to are other offices using some dedicated virtual machines and users at this end can connect to 1 VM at a time to access other office..

well we'll host VMs in our building only in our data center on two good ESX servers..

I am not 100% clear on what your current setup is and what you want to achieve.

Do you want to replace citrix with virtual pc?

Why would you want users to connect to VD then contect to remote/other offices?

What size link do you have between offices?
