VMWare Performance and Capacity Analysis Study

A good start to understanding how to achieve the "green" benefits of server and storage virtualization, thin provisioning and automated storage tiering can be accomplished through a study of your existing IT environment.

Many Compellent Business Partners are also VMWare partners and have access to the excellent Performance and Capacity Planning tool. This tool can provide a detailed summary of resource utilization, power, cooling and space useage and the potential savings which can be achieved by green virtualization technologies through a statistical analysis of your existing IT infrastructure.

Elsewhere in this session I have posted an example copy of a report for your review.

Re: VMWare Performance and Capacity Analysis Study
This is another excellent example of using tools to insure that a customer's expectations will be satisfied. Business Partners have a real opportunity and responsibility in recommending and creating IT solutions that permit an end user to execute their business plans effectively. Being able to provide these solutions while combining an environmentally green implementation in conjunction with substantial cost savings serves not only the environment but the customer as well.
