Hard Drive with all the sessions delivered..

Hi,

We are one step closer to having all the sessions posted, the vendor shipped us a drive with all the captured sessions. We had over 280 cdroms that had to be loaded individually, and that was going too slow. Now that we have the sessions on a drive, we should be able to get them up on the site very quickly.

We also have all the pdfs now, and mp3's... which are now all on the same drive. I'm hoping to have all the content up this week.

Eric

How long before all the sessions are made available to the general public and not just attendees.

Re: Hard Drive with all the sessions delivered..

I would second that -

I did not attend VMworld due to my inability to convince management of its value vs more sales force-focused spending (guess that shows who can give a better sales pitch :P ) I'll joke about it because it's out of my control; but I'd be lying to say it's not extremely frustrating that I can't even DL session MP3s and study as I'm commuting between locations.

I understand VMware has a vested financial interest in getting as many people to attend VMworld as possible... but come on, already.

I would argue that the growth of the community - and the implicit R&D and support cost savings to VMware's bottom line - has demonstrated the business value of an open exchange of knowledge. VMware regularly slams MSFT for controlling exchange of information and how said information can be used.

Rubber.. road... what's it gonna be?

Hi Eric!

How about getting some hard drives, branding them with the VMware logo (so marketing can pay for them) and shipping us the content on them :-)

Cheers!

Braam.

PS. Thanks for the content, I am doing my trip report and it's great to get so much from the site!

Re: Hard Drive with all the sessions delivered..

If the price is right - not for free of course, but a fair price, I definitely would by my own copy of the sessions with audio on a bling bling VMWorld 2007 HDD.

You get soooo much more out of the sessions with audio than just the slides..

Great Idea - I support this, and tell us if you're actually going to do this.

Thomas

Re: Hard Drive with all the sessions delivered..

great job with the Video, audio and slide this year from VMworld. Would be nice if we could buy instead of spending weeks downloading though.

Food for thought.

So it looks each presentation has a pdf and mp3 file that you can download as well as being able to watch it through a Flash streaming media. Is there a way to download the Macromedia Flash file for a presentation so we can view the synchronized slides/audio offline without live streaming?

Re: Hard Drive with all the sessions delivered..

In cases where the presenter has made their slides available on their own... anyone from VMWare gonna get ticked if we post links to those publically-available slides (just talking about the powerpoint here)? Even if they are presentations you yourself haven't made available yet to the general public yet?
