This content area focuses on technology to virutalize the desktop, which can realy be two different technologies:
1. Technologies that allow you to run multiple OS's on a single desktop machine. Like VMware's workstation product. They enable you to have Redhat, XP, and Solaris running on your desktop in frames. This is typically used for development and test environments.
2. Technologies that allow you to load your desktop OS from a server, and then run your desktop anywhere you happen to sit. VMware's ACE is an example of this type of virtuaization.
