The virtualization capabilities of the Hitachi USP-V compliment a VMware environment in two key areas; the ability to virtualize existing or non-Hitachi storage under the logical umbrella of the USP-V (all constituent storage presented under the USP-V), and by the USP-V Dynamic Provisioning software, which allows customers to assign virtual disk capacity yet only provision physical capacity as needed today.  Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning, under the USP-V, allows physical capacity to be provisioned as needed; similar to how VMware allows customers to provision additional servers as needed.
