This Question is Answered
Hi David,
I will post several ideas for running while you are at VMworld. The location of the VMworld Fun Run is about 8 miles or so from the area near VMworld. There are some popular routes closer that I will share with everyone a little bit later this week.

If you go to mapmyrun.com and search on San Francisco there are a number of runs mapped out, one I found a couple of block from the moscone center is here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/ca/san-francisco/6692971
Also looking forward to any suggestions from Craig.
Hi all,
Here is a do it yourself running route for those wanting to experience SF. This is not the same route as the VMworld Fun Run - though there is overlap near the Golden Gate Bridge.
From your location (hotel, VMworld – Moscone, or other) get to Market Street or Mission Street. Head east towards the Bay. You will know you have reached the Bay because you will have to cross The Embarcadero, you will see the Ferry Building, or your feet are wet.
From the Ferry Building head north along the sidewalk (you will see LOTS of other runners and walkers). In 5.5 miles you will reach the Golden Gate Bridge (round trip 11 miles). You can of course turn around at any point along the way to shorten the run.
Here is a mapping of the route from the Ferry Building:
