can anybody help me?i experienced a problem with VMotion

Dear friends, thank you for having a look at my thread.

i have a experimental environment include two esx4.0 host servers(same configuration),a nfs server,a switch, and a vcenter server.i have configured the whole system with VMotion.but when i am migrating a running vm from one host to the other,i always receive a error message at the 78% of the progress said "Source detected that destination failed to resume".

can anybody tell me what's going on with this progress?

thank you thank you.

Hi,

Since your are using NFS storage, you will get this type of error.

This problem has been observed when using NFS based storage and the volumes were mapped with non-consistent nfs-hostnames

(fqdn/non-fqdn/ip address).

To resolve this issue, check this one

Remove the volumes involved from the ESX hosts and re-add them by using the exact same host names to solve this problem.

You will have to svmotion VMs off this volume before doing this, If you're using NFS based storage this can be done directly from the Storage configuration
