Need information about monitoring features of vmware

I am researching on the monitoring features of vmware. I don't know its a correct place to question or not.

which security measure are taken for monitoring agents to connect with vmware?

what measures are taken to reduce Hypervisor monitoring overhead?

Monitoring Data can be represented in how many formats by default like Raw, XML or JSON etc ?
