VMware View

Hi guys,

I've just been reading how VMWares VDI is now evolving into VMWare View.. All that i've read sounds great, but does anyone know the changes that VMWare view manager will see in comparison to VDM??

any ideas or thoughts would be great...

Thanks

Re: VMware View

Hello

The only thing that will cost you more money is link clones. These feature costs a lot of money right now, i am hopeing the marketing team will fix this.

Re: VMware View

I'm doing a lot of stuff with vmView at the moment. There's unified access, thin printing, viewComposer (linked clones), offline desktop, et cetera; it's a huge step up from VDM, in a very positive way.

I've got almost as many engagements with vmView going on right now as some of the more popular products, like typical VI3 and SRM.

It's great stuff. Take time to architect a snap tree hierarchy and also weigh the cost/benefit to determine which thin client is right for you.

I'm a big fan! I still don't think you can hack up the login page or integrate it into another web site/page (like into a Sharepoint portal), but I haven't look at that yet.
