How do I set up an internet connection?

 

Hi, All,

 

 

I use my VMworkstation for personal use only as a virtual PC.   I am running VMware ACE on Windows XP and wondering how I can set up an internet connection.  I've tried to find the answer on forums but it all seems to be for setting up networks and the protocol is beyond my novice expertise.  Pinging IP addresses and DCHP's are all things I like to understand but unfortunately beyond my grasp.  I would appreciate any help in doing so.  Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add that I'd like to run the internet through my desktop's DSL connection and one for my laptop's wifi connection.  Cheers again.

Hi

 

 

I Think you need to familiarize yourself with these technology ("Pinging IP addresses and DCHP's are all things I like to understand but unfortunately beyond my grasp. I would appreciate any help in doing so") a bit more.  Then you will be able to understand what we are suggesting as solutions.
