Re: Sessions made public

Me neither, I think their ACL's are screwed up or they haven't implemented them yet.

Same problem.

VMworld 2007 & VMworld Europe 2008 Attendees Only

This session or lab is accessible for VMworld 2007 or VMworld Europe 2008 paid attendees only. Attendees of these conferences should sign into VMworld.com using their conference username/password. For any questions regarding access, please contact us.

And I attended both events.

Re: Sessions made public

I've found that if I go to http://www.vmworld.com/ and login first before I go to the 2008 sessions I can download whatever I want.  On the other hand, if I go to the sessions first and then log in, I get the VMworld 2007 & VMworld Europe 2008 Attendees Only warning.

Re: Sessions made public

Where are the labs !!!  This is kiling me because the two labs I took didn't work well and there wasn't enough time to finish them once they were fixed.  They told us "Don't worry, the labs will be on-line by Saturday and you'll be able to do them on you own".  That was WEEKS ago !!!

Re: Sessions made public

I've already downloaded labs numbered 1 through 15.  Which labs are you looking for?

Re: Sessions made public

Did you download them from the reuglar "sessions" section?  I see downloads for all the breakout sessions but, the lab ones have nothing.  I was looking for the PowerShell scripting lab.

Ok, I see the issue.  I was going to the site where I picked my sessions and built my schedule.  Not everything is out there yet.  apparently, there are two sites.  This is the one that appears to have everything:

VMworld 2008 Sessions & Labs

Seems like it would be better if they just had a single website for all Vmworld stuff it would be much less confusing.

Re: Sessions made public

It would be nice to have a "download all" bundle.

Or at least "download all in this category".

Re: Sessions made public

Ok.  So now I get online this am only to go the the active directory session and there is NO pdf.  Are you kidding me?  I am not going to sit here and listen to this session.  Lets get this worked out VMWare.  I was told not to take notes and that I would be able to download a PDF.

Re: Sessions made public

Derek,

This is the exact same one that we are trying to access as well. We were told not to take notes, and that the PDF would be provided with all the links and reg hacks, etc. Well there is no pdf and either our connection is so bad or vmworld's is so that we can barely even listen/watch the recorded presentation let alone skip ahead to the end to get the information we really need.

Come on VMWorld not only are you 2 weeks late in getting us access, you can't provide what we were promised.

Re: Sessions made public

You can access the pdf's for PO1323 (Best Practices for virtualizing AD) through the Session Catalog (https://vmworld2008.wingateweb.com/scheduler/login.jsp)

How are they 2 weeks late? They said the sessions files and audio would be posted by the end of sept. and they ended up posting them on 10/3. It takes time to collect all the audio recordings and put together the flash presentations and then post everything to their website. If anything they do a pretty dang good job of hustling to get all the sessions posted.

As far as the pdf file missing for that one it may have been an oversight that they might not even be aware of, you can contact them here:  http://www.vmworld.com/account_access.jspa and they should be able to get it posted.

Re: Sessions made public

Eric,

Thanks for the info. It is still crazy that you have to go two different places to the get the information you needed. And for some frustrating reason they changed my password and I had to request a change to get access back at the scheduler site.

I talked to them and they are looking into it and should be posting an update to this thread shortly.

Re: Sessions made public

A few weeks ago most of the .pdf's were made available off the sessions catelog site and I downloaded everything then. Now that there is an official site, I'm probably only missing 20 or so session .pdf's. The best practises for Ad was one of the first I downloaded.

I have to agree with Eric to an extent. Yes they are doing a pretty good job but the .pdf's should have been made available prior to VMworld. These were created long before Sept 14 and it would have been really nice to look over the presentations before hand. Had I have had this option, I probably would have not registered from the of the session that I did.
