Install ESX on HP DL380 G4

I am having some weird problem with install ESX on DL380 G4 at work. (dual 3.0 GHz, w/ 6GRAM, 2X146.8G HHD and 3X300 G HDD) this is for lab use at work so no SAN.

I have two DL380 G4, one was install ESX 3.0 and up graded to 3.5 recently, another one I was trying to install 3.5 today, and everything went fine until I try to boot up to ESX. it hangs there. I checked the Bios on both machines and it matches each other. I don't know what to do, I checked HP wed site and no information was given...

Re: Install ESX on HP DL380 G4

1. Did you upgrade with the recent ESX Update 2? There was an issue with ESX 3.5 versions a month ago. There is a new update 2 to fix that issue by the way at www.vmware.com

2. Did you check your mount points for the upgrade?

3. Check your Hardware too.

Re: Install ESX on HP DL380 G4
Might seem like a stupid question, but is it a dual processor box and do you have the memory sat in the right slots?

Had a similar problem not so long ago an it was simply that the memory to accomodate a dual processor unit was allocated in the wrong slots.

Reseated and it booted without issue.
