it might be a tradeoff...more walking to increase metabolism. Almost fell asleep in that first lab...of course if the network had been better there would have been more hands on. The speaker was excellant, but the setup was pretty bad...only 8 people could do anything and that was at times 50/50. ![]()
That is good to know since I was planning on sitting in line as a standby for one of the labs for over 2 hours.
For me the Labs are one of the most beneficial programs at VMWorld. I sure wish that someone would recognize the demand and further tailor the conference. There are so many things that could be covered within a lab type setting. It would also prove to be a great way to put the software of vendors into customers hands and get real immediate feedback.
By the way what session had the problems ? Wonder if they will improve as the week goes on.
It was the Site Recovery Manager Lab. Like I said the engineer knew the product inside and out, but the configuration in place made it difficult for the hands on. Most of us did not finish the complete config and then there were errors testing the config. I think this lab could definitely benefit from adding 2 more hours to it. 30 minutes to an hour for the engineer to lecture then 3 hours for the hands on. IMO. I am sure it will get better as the conference goes on, first day stuff.
