Re: Hotel or no hotel?
Are you talking about prices being cheaper online for The Venetian? I don't think so. I booked my nights (Sun-Fri) through VMworld website at $219 a night. I am getting in on Saturday and needed to add a night, The Venetian wanted to charge me $399, I got them down to $299. You can easily get hotel cheaper off the strip, but not a The Venetian.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?

I just called an verified that I DO indeed have a reservation. This is after calling twice before and having them not be able to locate a reservation.

Apparently they were just a little behind on sending the info the hotels. I would suggest everyone call the hotel they expect to have reservations at and check again.

Good luck and see you in Vegas!

Re: Hotel or no hotel?

so, some people got their room booked but I called both vmware and hotel (the Mirage) and they both told me that they don't have a room for me yet! It only two weeks left and getting to worry little bit.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?

I second that - I booked my Venetian room through the VMworld site almost 4 weeks ago and no here it is September 4th and the Venetian has no record of my booking.

All I have is a Cartooney Vmworld Invoice as proof that I have booked my room.

I am getting a bit nervous as well. I really don't want any mix ups. I was told to call the venetian 5 days before my stay - but I feel this is unacceptable. Especially since I will have to somehow link my reservations made directly through the Vmworld site and reservations made on the Venetian site. YUCK.... I can sense a bad taste in my mouth within the next couple weeks..

Re: Hotel or no hotel?
If anyone is looking for a hotel for not a bad price - and a pretty nice place - New York New York - which I think is within walking distance from what I remember from my last trip to Vegas - is throwing specials on Hotels.com if anyone is interested. I think my room was 160 a night instead of 299 anywhere else on the strip.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?
The NewYork NewYork and the Venetian are on oppsite ends of the strip. It may not "look" far but it's a bit of a hike. :) Walking about 35min. However, buses and taxis abound.

Directions
Link:

Start address: S Las Vegas Blvd
End address: Unknown road

Start at: S Las Vegas Blvd

1. Head southwest on S Las Vegas Blvd toward Caesars Palace Dr - 1.4 mi
2. Turn right at New York Blvd - 0.3 mi
3. Turn left - 0.1 mi

Re: Hotel or no hotel?
MGM Grand has specials for rooms around $100 per night, plus the Las Vegas Monorail is in the building so its a $5 / 5 minute ride to the Venetian.

I'm staying at Harrah's for $89 a night. It's close to the Venetian but also has a monorail stop.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?
I never recieved a confirmation via email, but I called the venetian about a week and a half ago and they were able to confirm my room reservations, as well as give me confirmation numbers. Not sure why some people are having trouble and others are not.

Hey Keith

Did you get your room booked? I have not yet gotten my room. I've been calling vmware and hotel everyday but no one has a clue where they booked me. It is getting frustrated.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?

Just a point of reference:

I'm staying at the Venetian, and booked through VMWorld. When I hadn't heard anything last week, I emailed VMWorld. They said don't panic unless you haven't heard after 9/12. That's a little close for comfort on my end, so I called the Venetian yesterday and all was well. Then, about 20 minutes later, I got a hotel confirmation from VMWorld.

Just FYI.

Re: Hotel or no hotel?
I called VMWare/World last week and was told to expect confirmations early this week.

Called TI yesterday where my reservation was and was able to confirm my reservation with them directly over the phone last night.
