Vmware Converter

Can anyone help - I am trying to do a bog standard p2v conversion of one of my Servers and it seems to be failing with the following error message:-

Unable to connect to the Remote Vmware Converter Agent. The remote host is not accessible using Microsoft Network Services. It may be down or firewalled.

I have checked some of the local logs and it seems to point to the rpc protocol, anyone got any ideas?

Re: Vmware Converter

Hi Paul, I hope you have already received an answer to your question.  If not you may want to try using FQDN or IP rather than just the server name. I have seen this happen in some network environments. Let me know if this helps or if you have any more questions on P2V processes.

Re: Vmware Converter

As said, you enter destination / Remote IP.

Re: Vmware Converter

DNS names (at least ones that don't match the WINDOZE name) need not apply (since they don't work.)

IP Address or WINS names only.
