Venetian Hotel already charged for one night stay??

 

Has anyone else been charged by the Venetian for one night stay?  I booked VMWorld and the hotel on June 2nd, but on August 20th I received a charge on my credit card for $238.71.  Anyone else have this charge or know why they seemed to charge for one night stay before the conference?  I assumed that the charge would happen after I checked out.

I believe it stated such as you registered and made your hotel reservations, but also if you look at the Hotel and Travel FAQ's you will find this questions/answer.

 

Is a deposit required to reserve a hotel room?

 

Yes, your credit card will be charged one night's room rate plus tax when your reservation is received by the hotel. Refunds will only be issued for cancellations made by 3pm, three days prior to arrival.

Andy, that is the way it works with conventions in Vegas.  1 night room deposit required.

Don't be alarmed - I encountered the same thing. Even though I was well aware that it would take place, there is something about having to pay for your big red shiny toy before you get it that hurts.:_|

Hi,

 

I had booked through the Vmworld Registration page for The Flamingo Hotel.

 

They sent me an Invoice for the period 14th to 18th Sep and subsequently charged 1 Night charges as advance from my Credit card.

 

I have not recd any confirmation number or mail from the Hotel till now.

 

Tried calling up several times from India and was never able to get across to the reservation team in this regard.

 

Is there any one in the US now who could help me get the confirmation from Flamingo Hotel.

I believe, it is the same like the earlier case. One night deposit required. When you checkout you will be charged for the rest of the days.
