compulsory attendance @ vmworld 2k8?

so lets face it, I've never been to Vegas before.

even though my company pays for my Vegas trip, i'm not planning to attend vmworld 2k8 all the time as i want to explore Vegas a bit. I'm not saying i'm not going to vmworld 2k8 at all, I'm just trying to find a compromise.

so, are there any appointmens where attendance is required, except for the initial registration and the vmware party?

Everything in Vegas happens at night, so just get a presciption from your doctor before you leave for medication to keep you awake during the sessions

You'll be able to spot them in the sessions easy .... they make the attempt to do it all, but you just see the heads jerking down and back, funny to watch, I've been them at times.

Nothing is mandatory, free country and all that, but you should at least attend the keynotes and futures sessions, search on "Preview" in the session builder.

As far as Vegas goes, not sure what you're into, but here's things I like :

But again, not sure what floats your boat, but that's stuff I like. Should be an experience for you.

Unfortunately, the Star Trek Experience is no more   Its last day was actually yesterday, September 1.  That's really disappointing since we only missed it by two weeks!  I was really looking forward to it, but found out on Slashdot last night that it's now closed.

I'd say that's some poor planning, they should have stretched it a little further to catch all us geeks.

On the plus side, does that mean there will be a ton of memorabilia on ebay ?
