Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

Well, I liked Cluster Funk's "marketing" at the Hard Rock last year.

Ha! Nice... Well I hope you can make it to our party at VMworld this year too! I am going to count on you to help spread the word and tell everyone how fun our parties have been in the past!

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

Any word on who the live entertainment is? If that's some kind of a secret then even some basic info about the type of entertainment would be good. My gf is flying out wednesday afternoon and we're trying to decide if she'll have $275 worth of fun. If it's a great band or something, then probably. If it's a clown and a bunch of mimes then I don't think so.

That's a good point.  I'm not so sure I'd pay $275 for Smashmouth.

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

I agree, my wife will be with me, and I am hoping for more info to decide if 275 for the party (kinda steep IMHO) is worth it. I know she would be allowed to go to the keynote address, but come on, let's say that does not rank real high on her list of things to do

I'd take a long look at what else you and your wife can do with $275 in Vegas.  Some good show tickets and maybe even dinner -- or a good amount to seed a night of gambling.

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

You guys are being way too nice.  $275 for a reception party and the VMworld conference party is entirely too steep.  To me that says they are trying to discourage anyone additional from attending.

Wasn't it like $100 last year for additional passes?

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

Ok, so it's on par with last year.  I enjoyed it and Smashmouth, but I wouldn't have paid $250 for that.

I guess my pass will go unused this year as my wife and I find a nice dinner and show to go see (for less) instead....

Well, I guess I won't be going either, or if I do, it won't be for long.

Maybe that's what VMware is planning

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

Sounds like the Cluster Funk Party will be the place to be Tuesday night. Maybe Brian Madden will join us for a pint at this one. I'm with the rest of you and mixed on how long I will be staying at that VMWorld party. Especially if I have to watch another wig wearing singing clown, lol. Guess I will follow the crowd Tueday night from booth 950.

Re: VMware Party - Where/What?

I have a idea you guys skip the party and give me your pass so my wife can go!!!   maybe there are a few females on here that have passes and aren't going and they will be happy to allow our wives take their place or maybe some vendors that really want my business.

btw if anyone is interested i have a free ticket to Danny Gans tonight if you want it.
