Trouble Removing Snapshot

I recently attempted expanded the disk size on a two virtual desktops running windows xp.  One of these desktops gave me no trouble, the other will not start, each time giving me an error about changes being made to the parent disk since the last time the child disk connected.  Which seems to me that I didn't remove the snapshot before I started the other steps to expanding the disk and partition.  But... I did remove the snapshot.  I created back ups of the everything before I started so I have tried this 3 times with the same result each time.  From the Server Console when I check the snapshots it shows the "remove snapshots" option grayed out, so I move forward, once I expand the disk with the vdiskmanager and start desktop I get the error.

your input is greatly appreciated.

Tim,

Did you try restoring the virtual machine from your backup set and then expanding the disk (making sure you remove snapshots before you expand)?

Re: Trouble Removing Snapshot

The *****000001.vmdk is actually the pointer file to snapshot file which would be *****000001-delta.vmdk

Have you got any -delta files?

I would also suggest deleting ALL the *****000001.vmdk files and retry? Let me know how it goes or if you have got another solution

Okydok..all the best..but I still believe if you delete those 000001 vmdk files, it may work. anyway, will await your reply!!
