Red Hat Appliance Solution

Billy,

 

With Red Hat's announcement of their Appliance Solution, what impact does this have on rPath and how do you think it will change your market strategy?

Marcus,

 

 

We are eager to see what Red Hat will deliver.  If they are committed to this market, it will increase our opportunity to sell more products as their competitor.  To my knowledge, the Appliance OS is the same as Red Hat Enterprise Linux in order to preserve all of the "certifications."  But it has a new name.  Perhaps a new pricing model.  We will need to wait until there is a product to find out.

Thanks. Do you think rPath will change its pricing model if Red Hat comes out with similar pricing to its current Enterprise pricing?

We do not intend to change our pricing model.  We have never lost an opportunity to a competitor based on price.  Our model is very well aligned with the interests of our customers.
