The conference was great, very informative but I had some major concerns with the accomodation and transport.
As we booked late, all the Cannes hotels were full however, we were offered a hotel, 15 miles up the road, in Juan Les Pins. The hotel was fine, 4 stars and very confortable with all the amenities. The problem was to do with the transport. Now as the hotel was offered by the organisers I would've thought they would have been a steady flow of transportation at key times. Not so.
There was transportation in the morning of each conference day but that seemed to be about it. We had to pay for taxis back to Juan Les Pins each day which was costing 35 Euros a time. We missed out on the VMWorld Party as the conference centre was emptied by 6:00pm and the Party didn't start till 8:00pm. We would've had to get a taxi back to Juan Les Pins, then a taxi back to Cannes and another taxi back at the end of the night. Suffice to say we didn't go. It was a shame because this was the only down point of the whole conference.
Something to address for next year maybe?
