VMWorld Fun Run???

Does anyone know if there will be a fun run this year? Just want to know if I should bring my running shoes

+1, as long as it's not $110 like the vegas 2011 run. I have shirts from 2009 & 2010, skipped 2011, and want a 2012 shirt now.

I've hit all of them since 2009 (yes, even the Vegas one) and I heard from a reliable source that a 2012 Fun Run is in the works.The SF runs have, BY FAR, been the best ones.

I'll post here whenever I get more information.

I also skipped the Vegas run cause of the cost (it was more than the boston marathon registration!), but I'd really like to run again in SanFran!

+1 here too if it goes. I'd love to see another one across the bridge. I also skipped the Vegas one due to the prohibitive cost. Surely there must be some companies that want to sponsor this thing. I'd much rather see them sponsor this than more lame booze and food parties! ;)

I'm in again. I was there 2009, 2010 but miss last year in Vegas.

How about something different this year, like dropped off in Sausalito and run back? Or a run around the Presidio or the Golden Gate Park? What are the best local runs?

Since I am East Coast, I am up really early in the morning. I find the best local runs are down through the city to the water front, very peaceful and depending on the street not really busy at 5:30 AM.

I'd be interested in this too. I'm at least planning to participate in my hotel's running program to keep me moving and burn some of those empty calories I'm sure to accumulate that week.

I don't know how far people like to run, but I've done a few of the following:

Start at Moscone and head up Mission to the Embarcadero then along the bay -- this is a nice route. If you follow that up to Broadway and back down Kearny, which turns into 3rd and runs by Moscone Center, you'll have a nice short loop -- 3 miles or so.

If you take Embarcadero all the way to Fisherman's Wharf, that's about 3 miles -- you can turn around and come back along the bay to maximize "bay-time"

To the Cannery (past the wharf, near the cable car turnaround) and back via Powell St. is roughly 5.25 miles.

These are just ideas...
