Session Title:

Why You Should Migrate to ESXi with vSphere 4.1

Session Abstract:

vSphere 4.1 and its subsequent update and patch releases are the last releases to include both ESX and ESXi hypervisor architectures. Future major releases of VMware vSphere will include only the ESXi architecture. VMware ESXi sets the industry’s gold standard when it comes to bare-metal hypervisor architectures thanks to a streamlined code base that dramatically improves the security, deployment and configuration, and ongoing administration of the hypervisor. With vSphere 4.1 VMware has introduced several improvements that make ESXi an even more attractive platform. In this session you will learn about the differences between ESXi and ESX, what are the unique advantages of ESXi, what’s new with ESXi in vSphere 4.1, how to plan your migration. You will also hear from a VMware customer who has successfully migrated to the ESXi architecture and learn from their experience.
