Session Title: | EMC IT's Journey to the Private Cloud and Enterprise Application Virtualization |
Session Abstract: | Interested in discovering how EMC IT is saving millions of dollars with virtualization? Join us for this exclusive behind the scenes look at what EMC IT is doing on its journey to the private cloud – from challenges faced, lessons learned and best practices developed, to future plans. You’ll find out how to leverage EMC’s own projects to transform your data centers. The presentation will focus on 6 key initiatives of Server Virtualization, Optimized Storage and Network Virtualization, Closed-loop, Automated Configuration Management and Monitoring, Security, vCloud Experience, and VDI. Additionally we will be discussing one of the single most challenging Tier 1 applications we virtualized in Oracle 11i’s application tier. This application virtualization started out limited on performance, however we will show some technical tuning that was done on ESX 3.5 that ultimately provided the performance required by the business unit. Additionally we will take you though some of EMC’s internal work using vCloud in a PoC environment and use cases we have identified. |
