Session Abstract:

As many organizations deploy or consider virtualization technologies, the impact to security and compliance cannot be overlooked. For auditors and information security professionals, understanding applicable controls and how to measure their effectiveness and proper implementation is key to maintaining a compliant infrastructure. In this presentation, a number of distinct security controls for today's leading server virtualization platforms will be discussed, with recommendations for how to implement them. In addition, each control area will also cover a number of regulatory and compliance initiatives such as PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and others, with guidance on the specific sections of each standard that are affected by virtualization technologies.
