Session Abstract: | This session will draw its content from the "VMbook - The Path to vSphere Unleashed" which details how to successfully transition from VI3 to VMware vSphere 4.0 and get you to a point of parity with respect to the following VI3 features - VMotion, Storage VMotion, High Availability (HA) and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS). The session with cover the prerequisites for the transition to vSphere, several common VI3 deployment scenarios including the mapping of those to various storage deployment scenarios and then provide the roadmap of the tactical steps to complete the transition to vSphere across the virtual infrastructure management and host layers, followed by virtual machine upgrades activities. A portion of the session will also cover the considerations for licensing during the transition to vSphere and what is involved to activate your vSphere licenses. |
