Session Title: | Beyond Infrastructure as a Service: Developer and Runtime Services with VMware and our Partners |
Session Abstract: | In recent years, developers have begun to realize significant productivity gains by leveraging higher level languages, new application development frameworks and innovative application platforms. Developers, and the IT groups that support them, are also harnessing virtualization and looking for ways to further increase efficiency and productivity. In this talk we describe how these two trends meet through the natural progression from virtualized infrastructure, to infrastructure as a service, to higher-level developer and runtime platforms as a service. We will walk through several examples of VMware working in collaboration with partners to deliver solutions that unify infrastructure and application-level technologies including Java, PHP, Ruby and data management. |
