Session Title:

Advanced Data Protection for Microsoft SQL and Exchange Server in a VMware Environment

Session Abstract:

Many organizations are looking to deploy mission-critical transactional database applications (such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server) in a virtual server environment, however protecting these applications can be challenging. With high I/O and constantly changing information, making clean and consistent data copies for backup and disaster recovery is difficult.

In this session, attendees will learn how they can easily and cost-effectively protect their Microsoft SQL and Exchange Server's in a VMware environment, utilizing integrated and automated software that provides application-consistent snapshots for quick online recovery and restore of VMware Virtual Machines running Microsoft SQL and Exchange Server. In this session we'll highlight and demonstrate:

  • Effective topologies leveraged from real-world customer case studies

  • Traditional iSCSI SAN-based data-protection methodologies for cupporting Microsoft SQL and Exchange Server environments.

  • Advanced, integrated, automated data protection tools for achieving and recovering application-consistent snapshots of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server in a VMware environment
