This talk will describe the technology and architecture behind VMware Fault Tolerance introduced with vSphere 4.0, providing insights into its performance characteristics and resource requirements. The session will provide answers to questions such as 1) what factors affect FT performance, 2) how FT impacts real life workloads, 3) how performance is impacted with increasing network latencies, 4) how much network bandwidth is required for FT, and 5) what are the best practices for performance, among others.
