Session Title: | VMware View - The Printing Session |
Session Abstract: | Within the framework of a technology partnership with ThinPrint, VMware has integrated the basic characteristics of .print technology into VMware View, thus making it possible to print easily in virtual desktop environments. Which characteristics offer an integrated print solution in VMware view environments and how do they work? There are inevitable challenges when printing from complex environments. The focus is as well on the integration of Thin Clients via the introduction of central print servers. The submission gives you an overview of how you can extend and combine the integrated print solution in order to make printing possible and enable its optimal installation in every foreseeable environment. It will explain where and how the print tasks are generated, the printer queues are managed and the spool processes are handled. Controller functions such as, for example, connection-related broadband control, print data compression with virtually no loss of quality and reliable and convenient printer mapping shall be presented in detail and explained in a practical way. The outsourcing of print processes to a print server results in a significant increase in stability and performance and enables the efficient administration of print drivers from a central position. With the virtualisation of a central print server you will create additional hardware independence in your environment. Furthermore, experts envisage a best practice concept on the integration of print servers in VMware View environments, which shows you how physical print servers can effectively be introduced as virtual print servers. |
