Session Title: | The Efficiency Imperative: Consolidation and Automation in IT Operations |
Session Abstract: | IT Efficiency is proving to be one of the top imperatives for 2009, putting increasing pressure on IT organizations to provide the same levels of service, with significantly less resources. Technologies like Virtualization and Automation can help to solve these issues, but for large scale efficiency initiatives, how do you implement actions that scale? How do IT organizations balance their need to deliver services that are tightly aligned to the goals of the business whilst preserving maximum efficiency? Building on practical experience from customers around the world, this session will review best practices for eliminating redundancy, and implementing a scalable and repeatable IT efficiency process. With pragmatic steps that any organization can take to identify top efficiency opportunities, this session will include several customer examples to gain a better understanding of how they started their project, the challenges they overcame, and how the impact of the project was felt way beyond the confines of the IT department. |
