Session Abstract:

This session helps an experienced VI administrator to prevent significant outages caused by VirtualCenter (VC) failures. Presented materials are tested by VMware professional services specialists in many projects. The session consists of:
Importance of the VirtualCenter server for the Virtual Infrastructure and the impact of its complete or partial failure.
Best practices for the implementation of high availability solutions are described. Use cases in this part are based on VMware HA and Microsoft clustering technologies. Additional highlight here is the usage of the VC server for implementation of the DR solutions.
Recovery procedures, necessary to quickly restore the functionality of the VC server and its components. Among the addressed failure scenarios are redeployment of VC and restart of VC agents.
