Session Abstract: | This session covers the over-arching Linux strategy and roadmap at VMware. It will discuss the various initiatives at VMware that are aimed at helping customers who are virtualizing Linux workloads. In addition to the roadmap, it will also cover various best practices and tips and tricks for deploying VMware Tools and managing VMware Infrastructure with the VI Perl Toolkit. This session is a must for IT administrators who are responsible for virtualizing Linux workloads on VMware Infrastructure. |

Speaker 1: | Srinivas Krishnamurti is a Director of Product Management for Linux. Prior to the current role, Srinivas headed up VMware efforts in the software lifecycle management area and was responsible for a number of initiatives including VMware Workstation, VMware Player, VMware Server, Virtual Appliances and VMware Fusion. Before joining VMware, Srinivas led Product Management in the Change and Configuration Management business unit at Rational Software. He is based in Palo Alto, Ca. |
Speaker 2: | Sahil Rihan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune, India, and an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University. He joined VMware in 2002 as part of the Virtual Machine Monitor Group and worked on binary translation and MMU virtualization. In his current role, he is the R&D lead for Linux initiatives at VMware. |
