Session Title: | Unified Data Center Virtualization with Cisco and VMware |
Session Abstract: | Virtualization is a 'top of mind' concern for most Data Center Managers as it can yield dramatic savings in capital expenditures and operating costs by utilizing Data Center resources more efficiently. In addition, virtualization can yield operational and management advantages. Adoption of virtualization can create economies of scale, enable power and cooling efficiencies, and facilitate automated provisioning for a shared infrastructure. Large server footprints inside the data center are forcing customers to look towards consolidation. New technologies like 10GE and Unified I/O are further facilitating the trends towards virtualization whereby multiple applications can share the same hardware without an impact on performance. Virtualization projects often begin with server virtualization but don't yield maximum impact if a holistic viewpoint is not considered. |
