This session will describe architectural changes in forthcoming ESX releases and how they will impact customers and partners. These changes include a 64-bit kernel for better performance, support for larger physical machines, and support for more virtual machines; security features and a new Console OS.

Patrick has worked at VMware, Inc. for five years, all in the VMware ESX kernel team. At VMware, Inc. Patrick has led projects around scalability and reliability in VMware ESX. Patrick has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont.
