Session Abstract:

Many of Business Objects' largest customers have adopted VMware-first policies where all new workloads and applications are provisioned in virtual machines by default. For other customers who are contemplating a move to virtualize their production BI deployment we are providing an architectural blueprint that highlights the agility of both the VMware and Business Objects infrastructures. This session will present a BI Center of Excellence reference architecture, best practices, tips & tricks, lessons learned, tests and benchmarks for virtualizing a single, enterprise-wide BI deployment serving 40,000 information-hungry internal customers.

Speaker 1:

Michael Rymkiewicz has been a speaker at Mercury World, XML World, BEA World, Sun ONE, SAP Virtualization Week and several Partner Tradeshows. Currently working as a Senior Technical Alliance Manager in the Partner Application ISV team, Michael is responsible for building the technical synergy between VMware and Business Objects/SAP. Michael has an extensive background in the areas of Application Life Cycle Management, Enterprise Service Management, Middle Tier Integration and Virtualization.

Speaker 2:

Mike Duddy has more than ten years experience in systems integration and architecture roles. As a Business Intelligence Platform Architect, he has just finished the design and deployment of a global Business Intelligence system for SAP. Mike's areas of speciality include complex system design, and sizing and capacity planning with a focus on applicance model architectures.

Speaker 3:

Oz Greenberg has more than 14 years of diverse experience in business development, strategic alliances, product management and software development. He is currently the strategic alliance manager for VMware, Citrix Systems and Computer Associates at Business Objects, an SAP Company. He also manages a portfolio of smaller, disruptive independent software vendor (ISV) companies. Oz is a recognized expert in the field of virtualization, virtual appliances, cloud computing, on-demand software and business intelligence. His presentations and workshops have been well-received at many industry and trade conferences. He is the recipient of many awards for his "intrapreneurial" work in the areas of strategic alliance management, co-innovation and product management.
Oz holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Simon Fraser University, where he has been a seasonal instructor on topics in Information Technology.
