This session will discuss best practices for virtualizing SQL server using VMware Infrastructure environment 3 (VI3). It will discuss the various technical considerations when virtualizing SQL Server and highlight the features in VI3 that makes it the best vitualization platform for virtualizing SQL Server. The session will also cover SQL Server deployment topics such as backup, security, licensing and technical support.
The session will provide tips and tricks for configuring highly available SQL server configurations in virtual environments such as failover clustering, log shipping, and database mirroring. Finally, the session will provide details about SQL server performance data.
