Fulfilling Regulatory Requirements in the Healthcare Industry Using VMware VI

Health-care professionals across America spend too much time and money filling out and tracking paperwork. Navicure, a fast growing, Georgia-based IT services provider to the healthcare industry, develops and supports insurance claim reimbursement tools and services to physicians and their staffs to simplify data processing and help them meet regulatory requirements.
In this session, we will hear how Navicure has designed, and implemented a resilient, highly scalable, yet cost effective IT infrastructure supporting over 500,000 daily transactions. VMware VI3 and iSCSI SAN technologies are core elements of Navicure's disaster-tolerant infrastructure that have allowed them to cost-effectively scale their business to meet the processing requirements of over 11,000 physicians in less than 7 years.
Navicure will also highlight their experiences as a VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) beta site. Navicure will discuss their plans to employ SRM to further reduce the time and cost of fulfilling regulatory requirements and automate failover procedures of both their physically-based database application and entire virtualized infrastructure. SRM enables Navicure to protect client information with highly automated disaster recovery and to provide the advanced testing and auditing of their DR plan as required by law.

As Navicure's Director of Information Technology, Donald designed, implemented, and directed Navicure's disaster recovery plan as well as established the standards and policies required by the HIPAA statutes.
Donald has spent the past 12 years in the healthcare industry in various IT leadership roles.
Mr. Wilkins, a graduate of Troy University, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Science with a major in Business Administration and continues to maintain certifications in various technologies.
