Session Title: | Simplifying Virtualization Through Adaptive Networking |
Session Abstract: | The legacy SAN components were designed around the implied assumption of physical and fixed workloads. The evolution of Server Virtualization is creating a new dynamic/mobile workload environment. The mobile workloads provide flexibility of deployment and migration at the server end but can subject the SAN environment to varying degree of dynamics. The Next Generation Data Center infrastructure must react to the evolving dynamics, without which sustaining SLA becomes a challenge. This presentation discusses the challenges posed by the mobile workloads and how SAN (Switch/HBA) infrastructure is evolving to respond to these needs, while guaranteeing the delivery of SLA from application to its data. To address new virtualization challenges, adaptive networking supports the goals of the next-generation data center by simplifying key tasks such as provisioning, configuration management, capacity planning, security management, and fault isolation for evolving, virtual data centers. |
