New this year, attendees must pre-register for sessions. Without pre-registration, you will not be given access to any breakout sessions.

If you are registered for VMworld, view a full listing of sessions, organize your days, and sign-up for the sessions you want to attend. Most sessions will be repeated at least once and we will be adding additional sessions based on popularity, so if it is full, check back.

If you are not yet registered, what are you waiting for? Register now and build out your schedule.

During VMworld, you will be able to add a session to your schedule up to an hour prior to the start. Session rooms will open approximately 25 minutes before the start of a session and close at the start of the session. Only attendees who have pre-registered for the session will be allowed in the room. There will be NO stand-by line, so please make sure to register for the sessions you plan on attending.

Hands-on Labs will be available on-demand and can be taken at any time throughout the event. You can add Lab time to your personal schedule, but will need to visit the Labs at VMworld to sign-up.

Lab Hours:

Sunday   2:00pm – 8:00pm

Monday   8:00am - 3:00pm

Tuesday   10:00am – 10:00pm

Wednesday   8:00am – 6:00pm

Thursday   8:00am – 4:00pm

The VMworld 2010 Schedule Builder has been published – Get yourself organized by building a personal conference schedule.  Once you register for VMworld 2010, you can plan your schedule with the specific Sessions and Labs you don’t want to miss.

Important Note:
This year there is no pre-registration for sessions and labs, but we highly recommend building your personal schedule to keep you organized. Adding sessions to your personal agenda DOES NOT reserve you a seat in that session. Seating at all sessions will be on a first come, first serve basis.

The VMworld 2010 Content Catalog has been updated with a new format offering filters, search options, dates and times along with details about sessions, labs and speakers.  View or filter sessions and labs by day, track, type or speaker -- or search by specific title, topic or keyword.

VMworld 2009 San Francisco is right around the corner!

This week we're highlighting the session: The Path to COS-less ESX: Migrating Server Operations from ESX to ESXi

VMware ESXi is the next generation hypervisor architecture from VMware, offering improved reliability, security, and a simplified operational model. Due to the superior nature of ESXi, VMware will discontinue the classic Service Console-based ESX in the near future. If you are a long-time user of ESX and have developed your management procedures around the Service Console, then come to this session to learn how to migrate to a new, improved operational model. We will show how to adapt your process for all aspects of management, including: hardware monitoring, backup, systems management, user management, logging, troubleshooting, and more. You should be able to leave this session armed with the tools necessary to be prepared for the transition to ESXi.
