Share Your VMworld Experience

Posted by tdunn Aug 22, 2012

share-experience.jpegVMworld 2012 is coming to San Francisco and is set to be the biggest conference yet in the epic history of VMworld. VMworld is fast & furious -- loaded with ton of information, networking, education, experience and adventure -- and it goes by before you know it.

So this year, take time to look around, participate in as much as possible and share your experiences with others online.  By sharing content, we will all capture and preserve VMworld 2012 for attendees, alumni and those who are not able to attend.

VMworld Photos
Be sure you have a digital camera or mobile device pre-loaded with photo apps. There are several great mobile apps available for download on IOS, Android & Blackberry. Be ready to take photos as you can throughout the week -- you never know when a great moment will present itself.  VMworld moves fast, so timely photo sharing is appreciated by everyone.

Our VMworld team will specifically be searching Instagram (preferrred), Flickr, Twitter/TwitPic/YFrog and Facebook for all photos tagged with VMworld or #VMworld. Tagged photos will be added on our VMworld Photos page as well as the Big LED Screen in the VMworld Hangspace. After the conclusion of the conference, be sure to upload photo sets & albums with tags to your favorite sites.  We will collect as many photos as possible to highlight on vmworld.com and our VMworld Facebook page.

VMworld Videos
If you are able to capture or record any video during the conference whether on a video camera or mobile device, please upload this to a YouTube channel with the keyword VMworld in the video title, description and/or tags. We will monitor for VMworld related videos and add selected entries to our VMworld Community playlist on VMworld TV or other blog and social rollups.

VMworld Blogs & Twitter
If you are planning to blog about VMworld, be sure to visit VMworld Bloggers to signup to be a contributor.  If you plan to tweet about VMworld (conference coverage or live tweet about sessions or gatherings), please signup to be a Twitter contributor at VMworld on Twitter. And be sure to become familiar with the Twitter hashtags available to tweet about specific sessions or topics during VMworld.  Blogs and Twitter are two of the most active methods of networking and sharing experiences during VMworld.  If you are new to VMworld, jump on in and participate!

We appreciate any and all contributions from VMworld attendees!

VMworld 2011 (Las Vegas) was by far the biggest VMworld so far in many ways. Much of this is due to the great efforts of our Twitterverse and Blogosphere. Thank you all for your comments and coverage!

Now, it is time to prepare for VMworld 2011 Europe, heading to Copenhagen in October. Once again, we have created wiki documents to share as contributor lists for the conference.

Please add yourself or your events/programs to these lists if you will be providing coverage or content during VMworld 2011 Copenhagen. And please share this blog and/or these links directly to others using your social media channels.
