Kinda Dissapointed

Some of the best titles and course descriptions for VMWorld Sessions have turned out to be BOF or "Birds of a Feather" sessions, where unfortunately, there is nothing to be learned. This might be a bit unfair, but, I challenge anybody to tell me they had a better experience. I've TRIED to attend three BOFs thus far and consistently, either I was unable to hear the speaker, the speaker wasn't really on topic with the description of the sess or the speaker admitted to not having direct experience with the topic. Not Good VMware.

I absolutely agree about the BOF sessions. I was looking forward to having some round table discussions with my peers to be able to bounce ideas off of and get some behind the scenes configs from.

These sessions are completely unmanageable due to them being in open common areas and not having to be registered to attend.

What a big bust this is!

I also agree. I was extremely disappointed with the two BOF sessions I attended. The scheduled speakers/hosts did not show up (in both BOF sessions) so they had to track someone down to fill in. The fill in speaker/host showed up ~30 minutes after the session was supposed to begin. It was hard to hear even 25% of the discussions due to the location. Fortunately I only have one more BOF session left on my schedule. It is around lunch time so I will take my lunch instead of attending it.

I have to agree also.  After the first BOF, I changed my schedule to get rid of as many as I could.  While I applaud what they're trying to accomplish, the execution is less than desirable.

I also found that I had a disappointing experience with the BOF session I attended. I also went and replaced the rest of my BOF's with another session. Too bad as some of the best topics were the BOF's.
