VMFS-3 Advances Since ESX 3.0

Sateem did a great job addressing and explaining a very complex topic. Understanding how ESX and Guest OS I/O operations are handled is critical to scaling VI operations.The changes made in VMFS locking and reservations has significantly improvd performance.  The most notable change is the addition of Optimistic I/O.
