Day 3 Wrap-up

Posted by James E. Price III on Sep 2, 2009 6:56:32 PM

VMworld Day 3 is a wrap, the VMworld Party is about to begin and it's time to reflect on the virtues of the day. In short, the best of VMworld 2009 can be surmised by saying that we have continued to evolve the technology but there isn't much "net new" to be found. There is an overwhelming amount of talk about clouds: vClouds, Internal Clouds, Public Clouds, Private Clouds and much like real clouds there's really nothing there. I don't want to seem underwhelmed about clouds but it is starting to feel a lot like ASP v2.
